Foster families are made up of traditional, non-traditional parents all of who can provide a safe and loving home for a foster child. General criteria that must be met to become a foster parent includes:
Being a resource parent takes patience, motivation, and commitment to providing a loving and safe stable home for foster youth.
Must be able to provide a safe, loving home with adequate space for an addition to the family, and a sustainable income.
Must be 21 or over, pass criminal background clearance and health screening, and show proof of driver’s license and insurance.
Time commitments range from short-term to life-long: emergency placement, respite care, helping one of our youth prepare to return to family, transition to independent living, legal guardianship, or adoption.
