Comedy in the Park 2023

This past Saturday was one giant labor of love from Youth Homes’ donors, community, volunteers, and employees. It is not extremely often that we have the opportunity to all gather in person, hug each other, enjoy a meal, and laugh together – but this weekend was one of those opportunities, and we are so grateful for it!

Our Comedy in the Park fundraiser was a beautiful success in spending time with our community, connecting new friends to the impactful work of Youth Homes, and raising funds to support the incredible young people that we serve. We began the night with a delicious buffet dinner from Sunrise Bistro, wine tasting, and beer tasting with Doze Home Brew Club. Our fabulous auctioneer, Nicole Cowan, spread the word about our amazing silent auction items, raffle prizes, and “Fabulous Forty” gift table.

The evening proceeded as our incredible guests pledged their donations to our organization and we got down to (funny) business! Comedian “Chicago Steve” Barkley shared his gift of laughter with our community as we continued to eat, drink, and mingle.

Our goal in everything we do is to keep our youth at the center of our mission. The amazing young people who come into our care or receive our services are the reason why we all show up, purchase event tickets, share our resources, and contribute our time – they're the reason why we care.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so wonderful; Youth Homes team for your efforts to put everything together, community partners for your generous contributions that made everything possible, volunteers for all your hours spent helping to make this vision come alive, and guests for making a difference for local young people in such a tangible way. YOU are the reason we are able to provide youth with therapy, a safe place to live, skills to make their lives happier and healthier, and hope for how bright their futures will be. This work takes a village, and we are glad you are part of ours.
